The official representative of West Papua in Vanuatu, Doctor John
Ondawame says gaining membership of the Melanesian Spearhead Group will
be on the agenda at the group's summit in New Caledonia next month.
Dr Ondawane says, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Fiji have
already confirmed that they will support the membership application
during the Noumea summit.
He says his organisation is also seeking support from Papua New Guinea.
Dr Ondawame made the statement in Port Vila where the MSG is celebrating its 25 anniversary
He told Hilaire Bule that Indonesia should lose its observer status with the group.
